PE1s Birthday Tea Party

To help celebrate Peterborough One Retail Park’s first birthday, Flying Saucer were tasked with devising, designing and managing an Alice in Wonderland themed tea party on Saturday 28th July. The hotter than usual summer weather and the promise of an exciting celebration, saw thousands of visitors flock to the venue to enjoy a plethora of shows and activities.

Fun for all the Family

Compered by Josh from Heart FM, a large stage was host to a schedule of entertainment including Alice in Wonderland performances, the Balloonantic Show, routines from Saldance and music from Lucy’s Choir.

Visitors were also invited to take part in competitions and gameshows, including the Cash Grabber – for the chance to grab £500 - and a fancy dress competition. Both proved particularly popular with the cheering crowds.

Other activities included a craft workshop where children could design and decorate their own Mad Hatter Hat, face painting, the opportunity to reach new heights with bungee trampolines and get giggly in the soft play area.

Championing local independent craft businesses, the Park also welcomed craft stalls showcasing high quality unique items from crafters, artists and designers.

Gekko from PJ Masks

PJ Masks is a popular children’s show about heroism. As night falls, three youngsters put on their pyjamas and activate their animal amulets – transforming into superheroes; Catboy, Owelette and Gekko! Much to the delight of little ones, Gekko from PJ Masks attended PE1’s Birthday Party event and entertained families with plenty of head-turning heroism and smile-inducing shenanigans!

A spokesperson from Targetfollow – managing agents of Peterborough One Retail Park – said:

“Peterborough One Retail Park’s first birthday was something we wanted to commemorate in style. And, thanks to Flying Saucer, we did! It was wonderful to see such a great turn out. We’re encouraging people to come back during August and enjoy the further entertainment planned during our ‘Summer of Fun’. We are dedicated to building on the success of the Park alongside Flying Saucer, and it is our goal to maintain a vibrant, exciting and innovative shopping destination for the whole family to enjoy.”

A Prominent Shopping Destination

Built in 2010 and prominently located just outside Peterborough off the A47, Peterborough Garden Park (as it was known) quickly became a hot spot for shoppers renowned for its distinctive architecture and landscaping. The Park had even won several prestigious awards.

In a bid to bring new life to the shopping destination, Flying Saucer was appointed to rebrand the venue as Peterborough One Retail Park last year. A refreshed events programme, a new website and social media management were also tasked.
